I feel like I am due for a new post

Posted by Typicalanonymous - December 18th, 2011

So I will talk about the party I just went to. Now, this isn't really a party, but more a "party." It was also one of the strangest I've ever been to. It was supposed to be a bonfire party thing, but since it just recently rained, all the wood they had was damp, and even I, who is pretty good at getting fires started, could not get the damn thing to get any better than embers. >=(

So, we just went inside and talked, which was fine, but it got interesting when Craig, a kid who I don't know that well, but is alright, pulled out a ukulele from... somewhere. He's at college going to culinary school, and I guess is planning to be a chef. Anyway, he starts playing random songs, so then someone else eventually gets a guitar. Then Meghan, who is the host of the party, goes and gets a violin, we move to a room with a piano, and Meghan's sister starts playing that. My brother stole a flute from somewhere, (he plays a piccolo in the NC State band) and everyone with an instrument start playing stuff. Everyone who wasn't playing anything was singing. It was a really weird, yet fun experience, and it was where I discovered that a lot of my friends are extremely talented, particularly Meghan's sister. We burned through songs for about 2 hours, doing a bunch of songs that I know, but have no clue what their names are though. A lot of Queen stuff. I wouldn't say it's the best "party" I've been to, but it was certainly the most unique. =/

P.S. Enjoy this non-ecchi pic... while you still can. >=D

I feel like I am due for a new post

i dont go to parties
or bonfires
or anything like that
its not my thing
cause
1 i HATE everyone that lives around here
2 i never know when that stuff is
3 even if i did know i still wouldnt go cause i dont like being around people
(im okay with being around very few people)
4 i dont know there isnt really a 4...

so yeah i dont do parties
and im reluctant to go to family parties cause they are so booooooooooring
theres no one fun in my family and its not like "oh hey there must be drunk people and thats always fun" no they dont have alcohol at all at the parties (which is perfectly fine for me since i dont drink, smoke, or do ANY drugs and im okay with that cause thats not my thing either even though people would try to convince me to do that i still wont i had to deal with my uncle dying from problems with his lungs because he smoked so much when he was younger and that totally turned me off smoking and i never really want to drink...dont ask why i just dont want to. as for drugs ive never ever wanted to do them ever. not even smoke pot or anything like that. and im still fine with that :D)
so yeah...
i typed a lot...
im gonna stop typing now

Yeah, it was a sorta family thing, even though it wasn't. The party we went to was with my dad's work friend and his kids, and Meghan invited people. While we're not actually family, it's pretty close; we've known Meghan and her sisters since we were kids. And yeah, as for me, I am not against drinking, it (imo) breaks down a lot of the nervousness that people have and lets them have more fun, but I'm not much on people getting smashed. Smoking and drugs though I'm completely against. I know tons of people who do pot, and that's not really my business, but there's no way I'll do that. If someone does anything worse than pot though, I'll typically try to disassociate myself with them.

i know a bunch of people that do worse than pot and they pretty much ruined their lives in the process. they were nice before they did that and now they're jerks and i feel like they lost a great deal of intelligence in the process.
so i tend to stay away from them.
and my girlfriend drinks sometimes...
and tries to get me to drink too
but i dont want to
and she used to think im weird cause i dont drink or smoke or do anything like that. i explained why i dont smoke (which is what i told you) and now she doesnt try to get me to smoke or anything like that. and she tried pot once and didnt like it and doesnt do any drugs. but she does enjoy her Absinthe, Beer, Vodka, and all that stuff. she loves absinthe...granted im not a fan of the fact she drinks but i dont really wanna change her any.
shes perfect the way she is.

Heh, had to google absinthe. And when it comes down to it, not drinking and all that jazz makes you much better off in the long run. So good for you. =)

yep it does :)
although i said i would drink with her at least once
on my 21st birthday when its legal for me to buy alcohol then we're gonna drink together. but i dont really want to drink any other time other than that. which is also fine with me.

i saw the word absinthe thrown around...

but hells man music with some friends at night is magic.
Its like perfection.

One day you and me will be jammin in the forest around a campfire...making some music...and you wont even know its me.

Ah, but you wouldn't even know it's me either...

It almost sounds like that old Southpark episode (4th of july) when the snake starts destroying everything, then the kids pull out and play their instruments, one by one, until... something wonderful happens.
Geez, next time throw a tarp over the wood pile. Or gas and styrofoam - the old napalm trick.
Yeah, generally people behave better inside anyway; less dangerous substances and what not.

But fire.... it's so FUN.

I go to a lot of bonfire sing along things for some reason.
Mostly they involve a lot of folk music and protest songs that are no longer totally relevant.
Actually your post made me go look up some of the music that the freaks I hang out with like to sing
I'm the only one who can't sing so generally I just clap my hands or occasionally play guitar (if it's a song I actually know enough to fudge).
Being as it is really freezing up here the last bonfire I went to was on Guy Fawkes, I can't remember if I posted about it, if I didn't I should have.
I ended up leading a boyscout troop a few years ago for no real reason besides all the parents were lazy. So generally my responsibility is to start the fire and pass around freezerbags full of trail mix. It's funny, very few of of the parties I go to involve alcohol (except when it's something like wassail which is kinda a necessity for a bonfire between the months of september and january). None involve drugs, a lot seem to end with assorted couples heading off to cars for what i can only assume are serious discussions about foreign policy or bookbinding techniques.
But honestly 90% of my friends are the sorts of people who I can imagine going off with members of the opposite sex so that they can discuss epic poems or the economy in privacy without it being a euphamism...
We are a fairly nerdy bunch although slowly but surely we're all getting paired off with other nerds and having nerd dates and nerd sex and nerd weddings and nerd babies (ok no nerd babies yet but we did have one wedding).

Wow this was a long post

"assorted couples heading off to cars for what i can only assume are serious discussions about foreign policy or bookbinding techniques" This made me laugh out loud. xD
And bonfires are fun. Fire is something I feel like I could stare at forever...

See the world, not through photographs.

Rather, see what you can of the world, and see what you cannot through photographs.

No, to me that is very much like turning a blind eye towards the world. Photography is simply art immortalized.

You confuse me, my good sir. Pictures are fun to look at. That, I'm afraid, is as far as my wee mind shall travel.

Perhaps this will label me as unforgivably pragmatic in your mind, TLG, but I feel you are being very harsh on pictures.

I know, right? Pictures are cool. Sides, something really cool is happening at any point and time, so some stuff ya just can't see yourself.

back to bonfires
last august someone sang this one song that wouldn't get out of my brain but I had all but forgotten it until now. time for another futile round of google searches I know it's something about worrying then very clearly "looking for a place to hide" then "i'll do whatever it takes to [something important i forgot here]" anyway whatever that song is it's following me around again and I can just sort of hear it in the back of my head but if i try to focus in on it I lose it entirely.

.......Okay. You are stalked by a... song?

yes i am and i can sort of hear it
it does this
"Oh when a a a a(worrying?)aaaaaade
Went looking for a place to hide"
and at some point it goes
"i'll do whatever it takes to aaaa aaaaaaaaaaaae
i'll do whatever it takes to aaaa aaaaaaaaaaaae
i'll do whatever it takes to aaaa aaaaaaaaaaaae
i'll do whatever it takes to aaaa aaaaaaaaaaaae"
and then it goes
"ada aaaaaaa aaaaaaaar"
"a" stands for anything I don't remember more than the tune of
it's sort of like 2 or 3 little pieces of the song
but i do have 1 complete line
yet i still can't find it....sigh

...Is it a country song?

I like photos. They immortalize reality. They are memories. However, I do not wish to reflect on memories that I don't have.

'Sigh' Okay then....
