Well the real thing he's stating is that everything, not just the minor "well I give old stuff to goodwill," that is not necessary for basic life should be given away. When looking at it like that, I actually don't agree with him. If everyone in the US just suddenly became selfless and did that, our economy would crash to the earth. There are some necessities in non-necessities, as paradoxical as it sounds. Aid to overseas is wonderful, but his "solution" is taking it too far.
